1. Does neuroplasticity really work?

Yes, neuroplasticity actually works. Publications are emerging showing that neuroplasticity-based strategies change brain structure and function as measured by functional MRIs. 

2. How long does it take to complete the course?

• Go at your own pace; there is no right way to complete the course.
• Take at least 4 to 5 months to complete. It’s OK to take longer.
• Take a minimum of 2 weeks per module — 30 to 60 minutes of learning daily.
• Aim for 1 hour neuroplasticity practice daily (broken into several short segments).
• Take your time to experiment and implement new strategies.
• Review as needed; learn more each time.

3. What if I am very ill and need someone to help me with the course?

To assist people who are severely affected, you may nominate a carer to take the course with you (at no extra cost).

4. Can I book an appointment with Dr. Stein and pay her privately?

No, Dr. Eleanor Stein is fully retired from clinical care. She has put what she knows into her online courses and updates them as she learns more.

Lina first met Dr. Eleanor Stein when she applied to be a moderator for the Pathways to Improvement (PTI) course in December of 2020. On medical leave because of chronic pain, Lina was eager to be part of a team that helped people improve their quality of life through self-management. As a moderator for the PTI Live course, she learned even more self-management skills for her persistent pain. 

Lina also helped Dr. Stein create the Healing Through Neuroplasticity (HTN) course by assisting in the creation of PowerPoint presentations and the workbook. Doing so gave her an even greater understanding of neuroplasticity and more strategies to add to her toolbox.

Her role as moderator for the HTN course and the HTN community is to help participants with any problems they might have with the course or with the community. The sharing of tips and resources in the HTN community continually allows her to learn and discover new strategies.
